Boys

After my graduation, I participated in some exhibitions and participated in some artists’ projects. I begin to create this project when I am preparing to apply for a postgraduate study. This work is a continuation of my graduation project. All the photos I have taken are my friends. They are also graduated from their colleges, just like me. After graduating from college, most of them have full of confusion about the future. During this embarrassing period, we left the school and rented a house, lived together with other twos or threes. After completing our school life, we finally get rid of the rules, we are finally free and we can do what we want. So, everywhere is full of alcohol, sex, cohabitation, LGBT…These words that are very far away from us are all coming into our life, and the young body is full of incitement and uneasiness. It is very challenging for me to pick up the camera to photograph them, because Chinese are traditional and conservative in terms of sex and physical exposure. When I started my shooting, they couldn’t understand it. But after some days, they gradually become confidence in front of my camera. These works break through the boundaries of the body in my previous works. When I press the shutter, I have an infinite pleasure in my mind. I want to break all the “taboos” through this project. Maybe this is the most powerful cometary on my confused youth.
