During the global epidemic and policies between China and Britain, I could not go to the UK to take face to face classes as usual, and I study online every day. When I opened up an image, I found a frame on the picture browsing page around the image, which made me think about its boundary on the screen and its carrier of the image.
This kind of screen and two-dimensional frame doesn’t exist in the real world, but they become part of the image. I’m trying to change the relationship between the frame and the image inside the frame. Then I print this frame out and take it to the real world for shooting. This ‘frame’ thus produces a process from 2D to 3D and then back to 2D again. So I’m doing self-examination and ask myself, what is an image? What is the boundary of the image? And the materiality of the image.
